65th Husband's birthday in May 2019. Sailing time evening.
We arrived 2 pm. Relaxing start to cruise was the Southampton embarkation and disembarkation. Never sailed from Southampton before always fly cruised. Felt the start of cruise as soon as on the ship.Cases were at our cabin before we even arrived at the door.
Was a bit concerned about whether the ship would be too posh for us and too big as previous cruises have only been with Marella Cruises tui but did need to worry at all. Lovely step up size.
Unobstructed room, with balcony one from corner end deck. Fair size but not spic and span on deck cleanness. Fridge chargeable including water in cabins. But it has a kettle with free tea and coffee. Good wardrobe and hanging space.
Bathroom was a shower no bath.A bit small but manageable if you are organised in the way you use it. Lovely toiletries.Bath and robe to use but have to buy if want to keep them. chocolate put on pillow at night and turn down.Nice touch. I ate both chocolates at night. ha ha. tipped the cabin steward during the week and at end of cruise. Kept clean. Beds comfortable and pillows lovely. 24 hr room service if wanted.
We had one morning breakfast in room which there is no charge. Lovely choice. Nice treat. Just a bit uncomfortable eating it in room. Every day delivery of the daily activities on a newspaper delivered to your room. A map given showing your ships decks.
Visited Portsmouth day before arriving in Southampton. About 45 mins drive.Visited the Victory in the Dockyard.
