Emerald made us an offer we couldnt refuse when there was nothing suitable for our original choice of Amsterdam to Basel.
They suggested Nuremberg to Frankfurt at a very reasonable price. Having already experienced our first river cruise on Avalon Nuremberg to Budepest, we questioned whether Emerald could be anywhere as good - we shoudnt have worried
Their Destiny is brand new and in tip top shape with the added bonus of an onboard swimming pool that was lovely to use.

Nuremberg
We spent two days in Nuremberg before joining our cruise.
Visited many outstanding museums and the restaurants we chose were excellent. Stay near the Hauptmarkt and the Sorat Saxon Hotel is perfectly located
Frankfurt
Frankly we found Frankfurt underwhelming and very disappointing after a wonderful cruise. We booked 3 nights when we would have done better to have flown directly after our cruise. We visited some interesting places to pass the time and did get to eat as some excellent restaurants, but could have used the extra time in Nuremberg
