This was our 24th cruise, and we went out of Boston to celebrate our anniversary and to avoid flying to Florida. We upgraded to a suite about 6 weeks before cruising and I would do that again just to take advantage of eating breakfast and lunch in their private dining rooms, Moderno and Cagney’s. Overall we had a nice cruise.
Embarkation in Boston is always a problem. This is our 3rd trip from Boston to Bermuda. We arrived at about 12:45 and it took us about a half hour to get to the escalator, then through security and check in. Upstairs it was rather chaotic with one Port Authority woman, in particular that was yelling at the top of her lungs for people to “FORM ANOTHER LINE. HURRY UP, KEEP MOVING”. From there it was another 20 minutes before getting to an agent. All of this is not controlled by Norwegian, but the Port Authority. After that we were escorted by a butler to Cagney’s to enjoy lunch, although our room was ready, and it was nice to unwind after the boarding experience.
Penthouse was about the size of other mini suites we have booked on other cruise lines. The bathroom had a sewage smell coming from the sink drain. We kept the sink plugged and that helped. I also carry room freshener on trips and that was useful.
The suite was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the Nespresso machine was really a nice touch, and the butler kept bringing in food every afternoon. Actually more than we could possible eat!
