My husband and I enjoy cruising and we didn't want to stop after having our beautiful daughter. Alaska was on our short list of cruise destinations and we've heard that Princess is the best cruise line to see Alaska right. We were not disappointed! Vancouver was an easy city to navigate and made for a stress-free embarkation day.
The Coral Princess ship felt spacious and gorgeous; it definitely didn't feel like a small or older ship. We had a balcony cabin (PERFECT for viewing the breathtaking Alaskan mountains, glaciers, whales, etc.) and it was well worth the extra cost over a inside cabin. We had plenty of space to store all our extra baby gear, for the little one to walk around & play, and to get away from napping baby out on the balcony.
We were able to do sit down dining EVERY NIGHT. I thought this would be impossible with a teething 12mo old, but our amazing waiter (Carlos de Mexico) made extra effort to make sure our daughter was happy and entertained all evening. Carlos brought out appetizer portions of different meals for baby girl to try, and the chef blended meats & veggies every night so baby girl could have fresh baby puree. Although the buffet was smaller than the larger ships we're used to, it was not lacking in options or deliciousness. Room service also brought Gerber baby food to our room any time baby girl needed an extra snack between meals.
Room was great. Spacious enough for a 12mo old to play and explore safely. We are very happy we upgraded to the balcony cabin.
