We had been to Alaska before but never done the land tour before. We selected the tour we wanted and the Golden Princess happened to be the ship for the cruise. The Golden is an older ship but in good condition, in my opinion. We enjoyed the cabin and the staff did a great job. We were in a suite on the Sun deck which I was worried about at first but have to say I loved it. Great views and very quiet area. Plus our cabin steward was excellent. The food in the MDR was good each night but some of the guest we dined with did not get the best quality of food depending on what they ordered. Enjoyed the entertainers in, what used to be called Crooners but now, Promenade bar. The service there was on point and it filled up each night. I was disappointed in Vines on the Golden as there was hardly anyone there even staff most of the time. They have changed the wine list and increased the prices along with not have on site sushi chef. The ports were enjoyable along with shore excursions.

Cabin Review

Premium Suite with Balcony

Cabin S5

The cabin was great. Loved being up high with wonderful views. Very quiet area of the ship. The premium suite was a bit smaller than a Vista suite but I didn't missed the wet bar as never used on previous cruises anyway.

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

Beautiful day cruise Glacier Bay. The glacier was wonderful to see caving along with whales and otters.

Skagway

We've done excursions in Skagway to took the time to just walk around. Very pleasant walk through the shops and visited a couple of breweries.

Ketchikan

Too many shops with all the same "stuff".
