Chose this cruise because with it having only one port of call I was able to commit to some much needed R & R. Cruise over all was excellent. NCL was very kind and gracious to support our CC Meet and Greet Group and they, I will say, did an outstanding job at hosting us. The cruise met our needs. 5 start accommodations, food and entertainment all the way. My only not so positive feedback rests in the increasing number of pay per use restaurants; I feel they are becoming a bit over kill and the fee structure they have in place for the drink package could use some tweaking. ie. my spouse, for religious reasons, does not consume alcohol however eligibility for the (included) drink package relies on both occupants in the cabin purchasing it. As well, the gratuity fee that was asked of me to pay upfront I felt was excessive given the amount I drink. I opted to pay for drinks as I went along and my bar bill turned out to be less than what I would have paid for the upfront gratuities for one person. I feel a better situation would be that when the cruise line is offering a free drink package that it is contingent on the fact that with each drink ordered on the ship that the cruiser knows that he/she will be billed a ie 20% gratuity fee thus the gratuities would be more fairly charged out. My only other last bit of feedback rests in the fact that the past 3 NCL cruises I have taken - not once did our cabin steward introduce him/herself - no customer relations / friendliness on that level. This has left me wondering if this is actually NCL's intention that stewards stay clear of patrons or minimize their interactions?? My historical experience with other cruise lines has been that stewards introduce themselves on the first day, provide assurance that if there is anything needed to let them know and are friendly with hello/have a nice day etc on a daily basis. All other staff on the ship were over the top professional, respectful and friendly. Thank you.
