My husband and I had a great time on the Epic! We boarded very quickly in Rome at 1:00 pm. Spent 2-1/2 days in Rome—so much to see, great food and lots of walking and cobblestones. It was much less crowded boarding in Civitavecchia, most boarding in Barcelona and off in Rome for the day. The Epic is a beautiful ship, clean and well maintained. The food was excellent in Taste and Manhattan (even better than the Gem and Breakaway) with great selections of appetizers, soups and salads. Desserts were also delicious.

Entertainment was very good—loved Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Beatles group, Tina Turner impersonator and Burn the Floor. There was also a really good Irish rock band. The ports were all wonderful. If I had to pick favorites, it would be Livorno for Florence (beautiful) and Mallorca (lovely and delicious tapas).

Tours: Used City Wonders for Vatican and Colliseum. Both tours were too long (3 hr lectures each). Used ItalyTours for Best of Florence and Classic Amalfi Coast. Florence was the best tour to see the sights and have time on your own. Ravello was very nice, as were Positano and Amalfi. The ride there and back was long with constant winding turns—I’d take a boat next time! Barcelona was beautiful with lots to see—we did 1/2 day tour with great guide from Barcelona Day tours. Cannes and Nice very nice (ship tour) but guide was rude to some on the tour. So much to see and do in every port—you will need to pace yourself! Crew was excellent, helpful and friendly. Norwegian does cruising so well! They have become my favorite cruise line.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B2

We received an upgrade from balcony guarantee to family balcony. Stateroom was large, plenty of storage. Only critique is the sink is too small. Otherwise, pretty with a comfortable bed.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Included in review above. Rome has so much to see, Bonci pizza had lines out the door but was worth the wait. Just wish Rome was cleaner, there was litter everywhere.

Tours with City Wonders not recommended.

Cannes

Bus tour with 1 hour on your own. No bathroom on bus, so grab a coffee and use restaurants restroom. Public bathroom had long line and wasted 15 mins

Nice is beautiful, but female guide was rude

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Lovely! Took shuttle to town. Cathedral area is beautiful. Wander down the alleys for great Sangria and tapas!
