Sail Date: May 2019
Cabin: Aft-facing Balcony Stateroom
Traveled with children

Just returned from a 7 day Alaskan cruise aboard the Norwegian Joy. The ship was recently refurbished so everything was basically brand new. We had a balcony cabin and really enjoyed it. We were able to watch whales as we sailed north and south. Storage was a little tight for 2 adults & 2 children, it we managed. The bathroom actually had more storage than most ships with numerous shelves & under sink cabinet.

We ate at all 3 of the main dining rooms as well as buffet & were pleased with all of them. The food was good & staff very friendly & efficient. We saw no reason to eat in any of the specialty restaurants because the food in the complimentary areas was so good.

Our 9 year old granddaughters loved Splash Academy. They went there almost everyday. They provided interesting activities for their age. We felt this was a very secure area because they were very strict about using a code proper ID to sign them in & out.

Seattle

Spent 1 day in Seattle before the cruise. Highly recommend visiting Chihuly Garden & Glass

Victoria

Beautiful city. Took a shuttle bus from the ship to downtown ($15 per person round trip). Went to the Royal BC Museum. Very nice museum. Lots of hands on type activities for kids. Several shops where you can get reasonably priced t-shirts & gifts.
