The cruise was wonderful.
Food and service in restaurants was perfect.
Cabin R519 was good and kept very clean. Disappointed we had the overhang from above casting shadow on balcony
Entertainment was OK ,but not as good as other cruises we have been on.
The best entertainment was the historical murder presentations.
Destinations were fantastic although only 6 hours in Gibraltar was disappointing.
We only booked in April 2019 and did via the select option mainly because we thought we could get the first sitting and a table for 2 and was put on the waiting list.
However once onboard we were informed that all the first sittings for a table for 2 were fully booked in Nov 2018 and we had no chance of this. We needed this because of my wife's poor hearing and cannot hear other peoples conversation. The outcome meant we were in Freedom and always had to wait for a table for 2. This should have been explained at the time of booking and perhaps we would have changed our decision and booked the early saver.
Reasonable sized cabin
Didn't like overhang on balcony as it cast shadow most of time
Good wardrobe/changing space
Bathroom basic but okay
Everything you had need of but not a lot of 'extras'
ship docked close to the town. plenty to see and do. Had a Tapas lunch and done some shopping everything very resonably priced.
What can you say its where you park your car. Albeit if you visit the town it is quite nice.
Got shuttle bus to the columbus statue. We have been to Barcelona many times, but this is the first time we have got on the Hop on Hop bus and found it well worth the 25 euros each.
We were tendered to the port. Lots of little streets and restaurants. Its got a very nice beach. We took the oppotunity to get the train into Nice. Takes about 10mins and costs about 7 euros. However was disappointed with Nice and the beach was stones and pebbles, not what we expected at all. We were soon on our way back to Villefranche.
As we had been to Rome before we decided to stay in Civitavecchia. Sadly it rained all day and after a few drinks in a cafe and a visit to the local museum went back to the Ship. Although it looks very nice and we would go there again hoping for better weather.
We were docked 10mins from the Town and loved it. Lots to do restaurants, shops, museums etc. Went to the Roman Theatre and the House of Fortune (1st century Roman villa).
Because we were only in Gibraltar for 6 hours we decided to do a cruise tour. It was very good and the Guide named Valerie was first class We could understand every word she spoke which is not always the case. Loved Gibraltar just disappointed we were only there 6 hoursView All 103 Rock of Gibraltar Reviews
