Juneau: I guess there are so many FAKE reviews for WHALE WATCHING. So i purchased Whale Watching with the Mendenhall Glacier and it was a waste of money! We paid $137.00 per person ( a deal compared to some of the other companies). However, we saw a few whales so far away that it was stupid. You guys wanna see whales? Go to a decent aquarium like the one in Seattle instead!! Whale Watching is a total waste of time. Me and my hubby had a joke "you missed it" the entire trip. So you're on a boat and someone spots a whale; everyone goes running to that view and within seconds the whale is gone. You only see a slight of the whale and they consider seeing a whale if you see it snort and then see the tail. Again, this is 200 yards out (by law they have to maintain a 100-200 foot distance) and the view is nothing really.
Skagaway: We did a glassblowing excursion. Cost was around $125 a person or so. Another disappointment! You don't get to pick which item you'll make. We were given ornaments: a round ball. It was cool to see how THEY make it. You kinda just get to point and say which 2 colors and which shape you want the round tiny ball to be.
Ketchikan: Hovercraft. $299 a person (what a HUGEEEE dissapointment!) This was another WHALE WATCHING nonsense. You missed it!!!! oh look a wahle? SAW IT? NO? SORRY you missed it!! Hovercraft was not smooth and not fast. Oh the highlight was that it was 1 of the only 2 commercially operated hovercrafts in the USA. i paid $300 per person for that crap.
