  3. Norwegian Dawn
We sailed on Dawn in December 2018 out of San Juan, and had a chance to sail again to NE/Canada in May 2019. Booked an inside on deck 10 midship. Plenty of storage for two, the round table under the TV is in the way and too large for this cabin. It was bumped right up against the bed on one side so my husband was fine getting in and out but not for me when I had to get out of bed. They need to replace it with a smaller table. Liked this deck and would book same again. Embark was good and so was disembark. We checked our bags at embark around 10am and walked over to the Intrepid which is so fun and interesting and would highly suggest to visit. Sail away was on time and it was a beautiful day. We did eat at the Venetian (MDR) for lunch and service was a little slow even though it was not crowded. We ate mainly in the Venetian and service was much slower than our 1st cruise on the Dawn back in December, but we are usually not in a hurry so not a big issue for us. The food was good and soup which we ordered each time was nice and hot. We ate in Aqua one night after we said we would not from the not so good experience back in December, which was slow and not very friendly servers, but we tried again and it was the same, the servers did not seem happy and service was slow. Food was good. We tried one time to eat at the buffet for lunch but did not care for it at all. Food was barely warm and too crowded. Ate at Cagney's the last night and food and service was very good. Ate at the chinese restaurant one night and it was very good. Entertainment was very good, the aerialist are excellent and so entertaining. Singers all good. We enjoyed all the bars/lounges and found all servers/bartenders are nice and pleasant. Gatsby's serves the best lavender martini which I was pleased to see it still being served from the 1st cruise. Comedian was good, only went once. Casino was as usual very, very smokey. It made me appreciate the Bliss cruise with the enclosed room for smokers in the casino. I wish all the ships had the separate smoking room as it would benefit all. It was full and busy except for the first night. Drink service is very good. Even thought the Halifax and St John ports were cold and rainy we still enjoyed getting off and exploring on our own (our 4th time and this was the 1st time it was cold/rain) Bar Harbor and Portland are two of our favorite ports and so much to do. We walked and shopped and ate lunch in Bar Harbor and did a City and lighthouse tour in Portland (went through a vendor located just off ship) Could not anchor in Newport RI due to high winds. We were disappointed because we had booked a excursion for the Cliff walk/Mansion tour. Will try next time. We have been to Newport before on a land based trip and felt bad for those first timers with plans, etc., but the winds were terrible and the Captain made the right call. Dawn is one of our favorites and will probably sail on her again. Also, regarding our room steward, JJ was wonderful and polite, Always greeted us by name. Thank you.

2nd Time on Dawn in 6 months. Thumbs up!
