We chose this cruise based on the itinerary. We had not been to the Baltic and have always wanted to visit Copenhagen, Stockholm, and St Petersburg. We were not disappointed with the ports of call. St Petersburg in particular was amazing. Having visited many of Europe's great palaces and parks, we were blown away with the Peterhof and Katherine's Palace. We were excited to try a new class of ship with the Regal Princess. Having spent all of our Princess cruises on the Grand class of ship, the Regal sounded like a potential upgrade. This simply was not the case. This was exaggerated by the poor weather on the trip. We were unfortunate with a low pressure storm following us from Copenhagen to St Petersburg with the highs in the low 50s. The weather made all of the outdoor spaces on the ship unusable. Since the Regal does not have an enclosed pool other than the spa pool and is very exposed on the Lido deck, everyone on the ship congregated in the Piazza. Unlike other ships we've been on, the Regal does not have the quiet nooks and crannies to play cards, read a book, or just watch the world go by. Further without a covered pool, there was no place to comfortably swim or enjoy the hot tub. This ship should not be used for early season Baltic cruises. Our fellow passengers were from a variety of countries with the vast majority of Asian heritage. We met very few Americans on board. Although this was surprising, it didn't bother us; people are people and enjoy the same activities. We enjoyed our ship mates. Food on the ship was above average in our opinion. The service across the ship was also above average. Almost everyone was polite and helpful with a few exceptions. Overall we were very pleased with food and service. Our cabin was M409. We've posted a review of the cabin as it is not a cabin we would choose again. It is very loud due to the Lido deck above. Overall we had an enjoyable trip. We would definitely do the itinerary again, but not on this ship.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony
Cabin MC M409
We've posted a cabin review on the [Cruise Critic message] boards. Overall our cabin was terrible due to the noise from the adjoining cabin M411 and the Lido deck above. We've stayed below the Lido deck before and never experienced anything like this cruise. We called many times to complain of the noise, but even as I write this review, their is noise coming from the deck by people moving chairs and tables. This continued all through the night right after MUTS finishes right into the morning. We have never had so little sleep on a cruise.
