My wife and I are from Seattle and we took this trip as a belated honeymoon. Our overall experience was very good. However, as Haven guests, I'm aware that we had benefits (like priority embarkation) that not everyone had. So this review is targeted to folks that will be sailing as Haven guests to align expectations.
EMBARKATION: Once we arrived to the terminal, we dropped our bags and headed to security. There is a line for Haven guests, however, the lady directing passengers through security didn't know what the Haven was and tried to send us through the general line. We went to the Haven check in and were promptly checked in. One minor (but annoying) thing was, our cabin information was printed incorrectly on the checklist being used by the agents. All week long we got letters, notes, etc., with the wrong info on it. Our room keys worked and we got the cabin we booked but details matter and this seemed like a dumb thing to screw up. Priority embarkation was awesome. We were quickly escorted to the Haven Lounge where we got a brief overview and then went to lunch at Margaritaville. (It was OK.)
THE SHIP: ....is beautiful. It is clean, but there are a lot of people on board. We accidentally stumbled into the buffet area while exploring the ship and holy cow, it was a madhouse! As expected, the elevators are a nightmare, especially after a show, muster drill, etc. We found it was easier to go in the opposite direction as everyone else just so we could get on an elevator.
We booked an H6 Aft-Facing Penthouse (14880). Our room was beautiful and the balcony was large; we spent time on the balcony every day, even when it was cold. However, the window washing mechanism is parked just off the starboard side of the balcony and impeded our view when trying to get goods shots of the Marjorie Glacier. (See pic). We won't book this deck again and will likely opt for decks 9, 10, 11, or 12.
