I primarily chose this cruise because of all the perks being offered by my online Travel Agent and we have always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise. Should you choose an Alaskan cruise do yourself a favor and save up for the luxury of a balcony stateroom. It was worth every dime. I spent a great deal of time on my balcony watching the beauty of Alaska go by as we sailed the inland passage and the Endicott arm. From the master of the ship on down we enjoyed extreme customer service, great food and entertainment. We primarily ate in the main dining room, but had a premium dining selection included, so we chose the tuscan grille. It was very good, but if I had to pay the 45 bucks for it, I wouldn't have been all that pleased. Service was excellent, actually superior which made it a memorable experience. Food was good, but just not exceptional.

Other than the natural beauty of the state, a huge highlight of the cruise was the naturist speaker Brent Nixon. His presentations were absolutely riveting.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

A standard balcony cabin with concierge service. Personally, I really didn't use the service all that much, so a regular balcony would have been a better value I think.

Port Reviews

Victoria

It was Okay. A good overall view of a vibrant and exciting city.

Juneau

Juneau is an interesting capital city. There are a lot of tours available after you get off the ship should you want to consider it. I just walked around and toured the Capitol building. We got in after the tour of the Endicott arm so we were tired from the early wake up. If you get off the main touristy shopping street, you will discover a vibrant and wonderful people.

Ketchikan

Get off the beaten path, walk the city explore the parks, take lots of pictures. Ketchikan is a lovely little city. It also has every store that is the same as in every other port, so get away from all of that to enjoy the spirit of the place.

Skagway

Skagway is a really cool little town. About 850 or so full time residents, and 3000 or so during "the season" Easy to do a nice walking tour, and the rangers also lead one should you be so inclined. The biggest draw is the railroad train ride into the mountains. It's about $130 or so, and I heard mixed reviews, some from "great", others to "wish I would have saved the money." I'm glad I saved the money. Take the shuttle to and from the port ($2.00each way) and enjoy a beautiful stroll through town. If you hit the main tourist street you can find every standard jewelry and stuff stores as found in every port.
