Forget the Love Boat. Princess’ food has raced its way to the bottom. Unfortunately, this is an industry-wide trend. I had cruised Princess about 10 years ago and the food was sublime. So, after years of begging family to switch it up and cruise Princess, they finally relented. For years I had said Princess’ food makes it worth the extra $$$. However, I was left embarrassed and apologizing.
My wife and I did the Chef’s table. While some of the courses were truly impressive. The overall experience lacked the exclusivity and whimsy of Chefs Tables on other cruises (including my prior Princess cruise). In short, in terms of food I saw little to no distinction between Princess and entry level/bargain cruise lines.
Most of the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and competent. We enjoyed shipboard trivia, bingo, games, and activities.
The Cabins were a bit small, but very nice.
Got on and off the ship here. Seattle is a great city.
We were only in port from 7 am to noon. There was little to see. It was not worth even getting off the ship.
The city looks great. However, we arrived in port 45 minutes late. Meaning we were only able to leave at 7:45 pm and were required to be back on ship by 11:30 pm. Why did we even stop here?
The crew, naturalist, and park rangers did a great job of guiding us around glacier by on the ship. This was the highlight of our trip.
