Based on our cruising experiences with Viking, we expected another great cruise. They did not disappoint! However, we specifically chose this cruise because of the itinerary. Number one destination for us was St. Petersburg so the fact that Viking offered us three full days there "sealed the deal." In addition our other two highly desired ports were Copenhagen and Tallinn. The Viking Jupiter is the newest having just started sailing this Spring. It is a beautiful ship. There are so many great spaces...the reading nooks, the pool area with pool grill, the theater, the spa, etc. And it never felt crowded! Last year we cruised the Mediterranean on the Viking Star and loved our cabin and its location on the same level as the pool, tea garden, World Café, and Explorer's Lounge. So we had the same cabin # on the Jupiter. We ate most of dinner meals in the World Café. The quality is outstanding and the service is wonderful. And again, never seemed overcrowded. We did eat a couple of meals in The Restaurant but just preferred to dine at our own pace since the food in the World Café was top-notch. The staff is outstanding, too. We commented often as to their friendliness and "going the extra mile." Another plus with Viking is the inclusion of a comprehensive shore excursion at each port. We always had a positive experience and it was only in St. Petersburg that we booked our own tour with a local guide. We have already booked our next cruise with Viking!
Beautiful room with plenty of space. Nice size balcony. Our refrigerator was restocked every day with a variety of soft drinks and water. The toiletry items are of a very high quality. This room has a small seating area that was a nice addition along with a desk area.
