As a solo traveler, I booked last minute on a Sail Away offer. No free at seas with this, but good value for a balcony cabin. I like this particular itinerary because it allows for a restful vacation. My work is fast-paced and my vacations are often a way to escape, pun intended, to be alone, have some needed quiet time. Friends ask me how I find solitude on a ship with thousands of people. I must say that the Norwegian ships I've traveled on thus far offer that. I can always find a quiet spot, often on deck eight. I've done the Bermuda cruise out of Boston (on the Dawn) as well as New York. The first day or two at sea allow for a detox from my busy life. Staying in port for 3 days takes away the self-imposed pressure of having to visit a lot of places. Having been to Bermuda and some of the more popular beaches before, I chose to simply walk to the nearby Snorkel Park and enjoyed floating in that luxurious water. I didn't need to run around and shop, and the free tender that Norwegian offers over to St. Georges is a pleasant ride even if not going ashore. The only negative thing I can say, is service at the Supper Club, which I attended on a couple of occasions, was lackluster. It seems like more attention was given to people ordering drinks (for $$$) as opposed to myself who just wanted iced tea and/or coffee (no $$$). Seriously considering making the Bermuda Cruise an annual retreat.
