We chose this 7nt Roundtrip to Bermuda because we had heard how wonderful Bermuda is. After going, we can see why this is a repeat port to visit for many of the people onboard the Norwegian Gem! Three days and 2 nights in port in Bermuda gives you a more time to get to see your destination without exhausting yourselves. The people are friendly, the cities and beaches are clean and safe and maybe best of all, no pushy salespeople around every corner!
Embarkation security was efficient and check in agent was fast and friendly but one of the directional staff was obnoxious! While we and four other guests were getting Spa info from the ship's staff, she was YELLING at us repeatedly to sit down. She would walk directly behind us saying I'm telling you to sit down! The Spa staff member apologized profusely. I wish I had asked to speak to the directional person's boss. Other directional staff were fine.
We chose an obstructed view cabin to save money this time around. Still had a decent view over the lifeboat and the location was great. We were really close to O'Sheehan's where you can get a relaxed uncrowded breakfast served to you or get selfserve coffee in the morning. The shower was bigger than many other ships we've been on but be warned if you are tall, we met a gentleman who was 6'4" who could use the shower but had to use the public toilet because the toilets are sectioned off and the space between the seat and the walls made it impossible for him to sit down. Although our room attendant cleaned well, he missed our room the last 2 mornings when we were out for hours. The fact that he approached us on the first day to explain why a cabin might be missed should have been a sign! We have gotten used to exceptional service from our room attendants so this was disappointing. No additional gratuity for him!
Great location near O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill and the stairs and elevators but far enough down the hallway to be quiet. View is behind a lifeboat and above the walkway. I don't think the walkway could see in but we did see a crew maintenance guy go past on a ledge one day so close the curtains for those private moments!
Driver was a wealth of information, both history and useful tips for our visit!
