I choose this cruise because of the destinations and because it started and ended in San Juan Puerto Rico. So I made time to explore the awesome city of San Juan, and HIGHLY recommend you do the same. This particular cruise itinerary we were at a different island 5 out of 7 cruising days. First ill admit I was skeptical about being on Carnivals oldest ship in the fleet, but boy was I in for a surprise!
The dinning room was by far the best I have ever experienced on Carnival, keep in mind its the only formal dinning option on the ship, there isn't any (specialty dinning) Other food options include Guy Fieri's Burger Joint and the Blue Iguana Cantina. Which were both awesome! Tortillas were prepared fresh right in front of you, plus not to mention several options including Taco salads, Burritos, and tacos with the options of chicken, beef, shrimp ,fish.
The ship its self was in good condition, apparently it has been remolded three different times. At no time did I ever feel trapped or claustrophobic. Since the ship is smaller it did not feel crowded.
My stateroom was the roomiest I have every had (this was my 4th cruise, 3rd with Carnival) my cruise mates and myself elected to book an aft-facing balcony. There was a total of three of us in the room. Never felt crowded, and gorgeous views!
Talked to the foalks at the Barbados ministry of tourism counter in the duty free mall. They suggested I take a cab (costing $5) to Carsile bay Copacabana beach club. Provided me with welcome rum punch drinks, and yes they were strong !
Had a great time, however was only in the air for about 5 minutes. For me personally it was not worth spending over $100.
