We booked this cruise 18 months ago as a celebration of our 20th anniversary. Overall, we were satisfied with the ship and crew but were disappointed with the weather. This is obviously not something that Carnival could do anything about and can happen anytime you go on a vacation. Most of our disappointments were due to this and had nothing to do with the ship or crew. Our stateroom was nice with lots of room for storage. Our balcony was not very deep however and it was difficult for a second person to get out onto the balcony when someone was already out there since the doors open outwards and don't slide. However, it was great to have the great big window since the cool, rainy weather kept us indoors. We could still see outside and enjoy what view there was. Only complaint with the stateroom was a lack of cold water. Water eventually became so scalding (even at lowest setting) that we had to have a plumber come. after that, the water would swing from cold as ice to scalding hot without touching the dial. We did report it so hoping they were able to get fixed before the next people moved in. Absolutely loved the deli and grill on Lido. Was nice to have options other than the buffet. Never tried the mongolian or tandoor. BBQ was good. Main dining was great. 10 of the 14 nights we were alone at a table for 10 so received awesome service. Staff was attentive without hovering. Lido staff was great. We only saw a few of the shows since our times were the 10:15 shows. Many nights we went to the comedians instead who were hysterical. Loved all of them. Gorgeous George does a great job bringing in talented comedians. The cruise director Lee and his staff were really great. There were a lot of activities available for the days that we were stuck inside. Although we did not catch any of them, there was a speaker there talking about Polynesia, animals, sea life etc. and she seemed to get a pretty good crowd for her informational talks. The ship was clean. Staff was friendly. Our shore excursions were good. We did a private one at Honolulu since the ship sanctioned ones sold out so fast. Wish we could have had more time in Kona and less in Maui due to the weather but obviously they have no way to know that in advance.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8C 8316
Room was nice with a lot of storage. Pool area is directly above and during the day you will hear chairs sliding. The room is between the 24 hr pizza and the bar so people tend to slide chairs in and out at all hours. However, you really had little noise from there after 9 pm. Balcony is not very deep so difficult to open the door if someone is standing out on the balcony but since the weather was not conducive to sitting on the balcony, this didn't turn into much of an issue.
