it was cheap and out of seattle where i live. i booked an ocean view room gty. was berthed in a family ocean view that was huge! 254 SQFT room 9700 is giant and it has a bath tub. the view is out the front of the ship and looks over the bow of the ship. everything was in working order and the steward was very good at his job. the food in the main dinning room was very good. the buffet was ok but nothing to shout about. lots of indian and asian cuisine. not really my taste. bring a bottle of "MIO" water flavoring. the drink prices are outrageous just like every other cruise. the people are very friendly and willing to help. be sure to look for a cruise staff member named "Nicole" she is a burst of sunshine. there were two main shows. Footloose and Elements. they were pretty good. i wish they would do more shows. 2 i=was not enough. other entertainment on the ship was good. the comedians were funny and the guy in the "district" was really funny. the joy does not have a thermal suite. so no spa to speak of. find another ship if you need to spa every day. the massages were mediocre. the go-cart track was fun but you have to plan and reserve track time. the virtual reality games were fun but you have to buy 90 minutes to be used all at once for 29.95. they have many ways to separate you from your money. all in all i had a great time on the ship. i went to relax and just unwind from a bunch of stress.
This room was huge! family of 4 would be comfortable in here. i was solo so maybe it felt huge because of that. tons of closet space. even has a bathtub. double wide sink in the bathroom. movies were good, but there is not a guide to see what was playing.:(
go find the local museum. very good!
take the bus to town. find the totem pole carving place. (across the street). very interesting . the people are very down to earth and easy to talk with.
