This was our 14th (or so) cruise and the first time we booked a Penthouse Suite. The room was better than expected and our Butler (Spencer) absolutely fabulous! Food on this ship much better than the Star on which we cruised through the Panama Canal in January 2019. Even the specialty restaurants better on the Pride of American compared to the Star. Perhaps all this had to do with the language abilities of the crew. On the Hawaii cruise, every staff person with whom we spoke was engaging, fun and communicated perfectly. On the Star, even basic communication was difficult in restaurants, bars, with cabin crew, etc.
By far our favorite Hawaii excursion was the Outrigger Canoe Experience. Actually run by a non-profit to promote Hawaiian culture to youth through canoeing, the company exposed we travelers to the same by having us row around a protected bay near the ship. Lots of fun & good exercise. The Hawaiian Islands cruise itinerary hasn't changed in decades, yet the stops are all nice & provide great access to various experiences. Easy on & off, even the tendering was well-managed and accessible to nearly everyone. Should Norwegian ever coordinate a 'golf/cruise package', we'll return sooner than expected.
Awesome cabin & balcony! Beautiful decor, spacious & extremely professional staff assigned to our cabin category. We did have a little floor drain issue in the bathroom that was promptly fixed and our Butler (Spencer) supervised the project. Friends were in the neighboring Penthouse Suite & loved their room as well. How can we ever stay in a small room again?!
