First - embarkation at first looked like it was going to run very smooth - after passing through security screening that all came to a screeching halt. There were some folks there to assist, however they did not give 100%. If you got in the wrong line and waited for 30 minutes - too bad for you, you had to go wait again. Disembarkation is always a nightmare - there has to be a better way - and they kept blaming it on customs which probably only has a little to do with why it took so long. The cabin was OK for a mini suite - best thing was the larger bathroom. We were located mid Deck 9 and could hear the nightlife. I have the same complaint about the air in the room - system would shut down pretty fast and you had to keep getting up to turn it back on. If I had known I could keep the balcony door open I would have all night - I thought that was frowned upon. The dining in the specialty restaurants was spot on. Best meal was at Cagney's. Service and food were awesome! Teppanyaki and LaCucina were tied for food - with Teppanyaki getting an A plus for entertainment and service. Service in the main dining rooms were mediocre at best. The first night in the Manhattan room they had to call in extra staff to help from the Q restaurant. The night we ate at Taste restaurant it was again very discombobulated. The hostess did try to keep things running smoothly however it was just impossible. Some people did have great service that were seated after us that we could see - guess we were just seated in the wrong area. The staff at the District BrewHouse were phenomenal - they most definitely know their stuff. The staff at Maltings were also very knowledgeable and attentive. Service at The Local was good - limited choices but a better option sometimes then the buffet sometimes. The buffet was always crowded and I often heard people complaining about lack of space. Choices at buffet were always good. Excursions - one was OK - Mendenhall Glacier and Mt. Robets Tram; one was great - Klondike Bicycle Tour; and one was fun - Lumberjack Show.
Cabin was as expected - best thing again was bathroom. Cabin steward Rodney was excellent.
The National Park rangers onboard the ship were great. The explained everything you wanted to know about Glacier Bay.
Victoria British Columbia was beautiful!
