This is our fifth cruise on this particular ship. Grand Princess is one of our favorite ships for the following reasons (in no particular order):

WRAP AROUND PROMENADE - We walk around the promenade daily for exercise, and later, for digestion. COVERED POOL AND CONSERVATORY - The ping pong tables are actually usable, without wind tunnel. The shared puzzle area is out of the way. The covered pool is nice place when weather is too hot or cold for us in the open air pool. NICE GYM PLACEMENT - The gym machines look out from the 15th level. Noted many more cruisers utilizing gym than on previous cruises. Always full with very little trickling-off as cruise neared end. Nice view. Going to be sorry to see this ship move.

Add to that: SAN FRANCISCO HOME PORT - Convenient home port with round trip cruises. BEST EMBARK/DEBARK EXPERIENCE - New Pier 27 is one of the best with always friendly, efficient staff.

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin IF

The cabin was small overall, but adequate. We tend to spend less time in interior cabins, anyway. The shower footprint seemed larger than most cabins in balcony and interior category. Showers are generally small...this one seemed better. I could pick up my dropped soap bar without getting out of the shower to retrieve it. Our steward, Bombie, took good care for the cabin, having learned our shipboard routine quickly. Steward attentiveness is important when you only make essential visits to the cabin throughout the day.
