Check in was quick, although we were not advised on using our VIP status, and just told to go and wait in the waiting room. Extremely cold and very loud, during the wait. Once boarded, we were swamped immediately by sales...beverage packages, dining packages, photos...no one volunteered where the dining was. Found our way. The ship is very shiny and sparkly. Food was average and service was well below average. Self service beverages in buffet...4 wine dispensers, each with a red and a white tap. None dispensed both. 4 taps for beer, one was light. 2 kegs were empty by 3rd day and not replenished. Went from lots of "glasses" to no disposable, then no tumblers ( for soda) then, people using beer glasses for all beverages and finally, by the end of the week, only wine glasses were in evidence. Lots of staff walking around in the dining area but not helping with any dining experience. Finding out which beverage were part of our package was a joke. Lines at guest services were ridiculous, most of the time. I was quite surprised, when attending the Cruise Critic "party" how many kids were there running around. It was nice to meet some of the senior staff. Each staff member we spoke with made us feel very welcome. Kids were at the "food tasting" as well. Kids should not be allowed at these adult functions. The adults pool...small and well monitored to ensure that children were not in/around it. However, there were smokers EVERYWHERE around the pool. The ship could use a cleaning. There were fingerprints and dust that were in the same place all week. There is NO self serve laundry or irons. The cabins are a decent size. Could use more hangers in the closet. Which, like everyone says, are in an awkward spot. Beds are comfy and bathroom was nice. Loved the abundance of outdoor space. Kudos on this! Loved the status match. Loved the easy "black card" embarkation at ports. And the welcome when we were docked next to the TUI ship. All that singing and dancing at the gangway...well done, MSC. You should have seen the guests on that ship, as well as staff, coming to watch what was going on. We were given a "chocolate Seaside" as a gift and put it in the minifridge to keep it cool. Who was to know it got locked in the final night and we had to leave it behind. All in all...I am a huge believer in "you get what you pay for" and we did. For the same $$ I would cruise MSC again:) Entertainment was great. Michael Jackson...we have seen hundreds of these shows all over the Caribbean but this one was SO good, I got goosebumps and tears in my eyes!

Some good and some not so good...

Cabin Review

Bella Balcony Stateroom
Cabin B1 13097
Better than some. The awkward closet is an issue. The sofa was already showing wear. The towels and robes...throw them out...they were so thin and rough!
