Decided to do the world as a ‘Well Why Not’ and wasn’t disappointed generally. Arcadia is a very stable ship in adverse weather conditions. Cabins were very comfortable, although a tad tired/well worn.

Meals in Meridian Restaurant were excellent, think there was only one dish I disliked and that was me, not the restaurant’s choice. The Sindhu is totally delicious.

Entertainment was very mixed. Mark Labett (The Chase) was particularly good as were the many talks by naturalist Nigel Marven. So many to chose from. The Headliners in my opinion weren’t up to much as the female lead singers always shouted rather than sang. The Runaround Kids were excellent just a pity they have a silly name. Too many jugglers and mind reader type acts, once is enough! Entertainment Manager Emma was very personable, the same could not be said of her counterpart when Emma was on leave.

The excursions team were superb especially Sam and the ladies, the 2nd man wasn’t in the same way, not overly helpful or friendly. Sam’s port talks were quite outstanding.

Most staff on board were courteous, very friendly and helpful particularly Manuel in Meridian and Elinore in Piano bar.

My only complaint really was the coffee. That in the buffet was quite disgusting and undrinkable which meant I spent an absolute fortune on Costa cards/coffee. Dependant on the barista really whether a good or poor cup was dispensed. The quality was not consistent. Great room for improvement and a poor show that you can’t get a decent drink without having to pay for it - beverages I mean AND the fact you have to pay for water which is deplorable. Need water to live!

As I have already said, the trip all in all was amazing but a bit of tweaking required.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony and Bath/Shower
Cabin DB A33

Just tired but very comfortable bed

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

St. Lucia

Really good and guide was both amusing, sassy and informative

Very poor excursion of ‘town’ there was no town. Got taken to tour guides’ brothers jewellery store, another relatives rug shop and a bar where we in what can only be described as a ‘lock in’ and given fire water to drink and locusts covered in salt. Not good value, not very entertaining and all in all not a place you’d want to visit again

Pearl Harbor

Amazing experience but felt the mass of Japanese who found the place a total joke and were so disrespectful, thought they were out of place and out of order specially as the site was a huge war grave caused by them!

Memorable experience, what an awesome place. View from balcony on ship was to die for. Did a lot of our own thing and went off to Bondi, Manley on very accessible transportation system

Very quick stop because of cyclone back lash but what we saw was great. Lovely city, pretty flat

Rather not have gone here. Couldn’t ge5 back on the ship quick enough

Quite uninteresting place with little character or charm. Weather didn’t do it any favours either

City Tour

Went up to Peace Park which was very still and almost serene. Worth a visit. Tour of town a bit uninspiring, but a good included lunch

Great experience and the living museum was so amazing, weather was good too

City Tour

Went here having done 4 day India overland add-on and must confess to being toured out and exhausted having flown in from Jaipur. Mumbai was not the nicest of places. It was heaving and very hot. Would not want to return

Did our own thing meeting relatives, went up into the desert to see sunset which was spectacular. Really enjoyed the vibes but wouldn’t want to stay there, very dusty and smoggy

Not very enthralling and so mosqued out! Found it tedious and not very enjoyable

Andalusia Walking Tour

Fabulous tour as is Andalusia. Went to beautiful old town with cobbled streets on sea. Lovely day, lovely weather

Jerusalem Old City

Thought this was a good excursion but t a very long day. Jerusalem was enormous and not what I was expecting. Garden of Gethsemane and Mount of Olives not what I imagined - far smaller. Questioned if the bible was fact or fiction afterwards, still not sure
