Sail Date: Apr 2019

We just returned from our 8th Celebrity cruise this time on the Silhouette 7 day Norwegian fjords cruise out of Southampton. Ship was clean as usual, stateroom and stateroom attendant were excellent, anytime dining was easy and a real plus. All in all, the cruise was fun relaxing, and well worth it, especially with the stunning scenery we saw in the Norwegian fjords.

There were a couple of things, however, that really bugged us compered to previous Celebrity cruises. First of all, the beverage package seems to change each time we cruise -- by pushing more beer and liquor choices from "classic" to a "premium" status. The Ocean View cafe lunch selections are almost too exotic for an average palate -- fancy curry dishes, terrible fish selections, etc. How about more hamburgers, grilled sandwiches, etc? Embarkation was very slow compared to other Celebrity sailings -- it was more than an hour from arrival at our assigned time until we stepped aboard the ship. Thirty minutes of that time was spent in line on the gangway.

Unfortunately, most days the mast grill was too cold to dine at, or we would have spent more time there. And finally, the shore excursion descriptions are not always what they turn out to be, so do your research and choose carefully.
