I chose this cruise because it was something I always wanted to experience and so I took my 9 yr old grandson during Spring break from school. We love the Disney Parks and wanted to try to cruise. My husband, 23 yr old son, my grandson and myself were in stateroom 7536. My brother, sis in law and 18 yr old nephew were in 7520. We had a nice time all in all. There was a mishap on first night dinner in AP. We ordered steaks and my bro got a one inch piece of metal in his. He was chewing and after feeling it, he spit it out - thank goodness. The wait staff, chef and head waiter were very apologetic and I felt bad for the chef. He looked so upset and puzzled. It was a piece of metal from a wire brush that would be used to clean a grill. This could have ruined entire cruise if it had been swallowed. Like I said, they were very upset that this happened and I hope they do whatever they need to do to ensure this never happens again. Swallowing that could be fatal. At the very least would require surgery. We received Magical Memories certificates for our troubles. The ports were fine. Key West was nice. Nassau - been there, done that. Unless your doing a day at Atlantis, might be best to stay on the ship. Castaway Cay, was beautiful. The weather was great. The shows were awesome. Saw every one of them. They released END GAME on the ship and that was so fun. Disney details were the best. We enjoyed some late night trivia and juggling entertainment. The food was okay but nothing over the top. We didn't do Palo. We were very disappointed that Lumiere's did not offer any entertainment for dinner. AP and the Tangled restaurants did have lovely entertainment, but not Lumiere's. It was our last night's restaurant so we looked forward to some fun, but there was none to be had. The wait staff said they removed the Beauty and the Beast entertainment because it was frightening to the little ones. This is Disney and they could have done something else rather than nothing. So yeah that was disappointing. Would I do another Disney Cruise, possibly but not 100% yet.
The cabin was comfortable and I was afraid it would be tight because my husband is 6'4" and so is my son. We all slept fine. We were exhausted at the end of every day so that made it easy to sleep no matter what. My grandson slept in the upper birth and he had no complaints. Plenty of storage. No issues there. The balcony was nice to have as well. The location of the cabin was perfect. Glenn was our stateroom attendant and he kept our rooms clean and the turn down service was always appreciated. Never a complaint. We were near both the mid and aft elevator so no matter where we went we were fine. The elevators are slow and small so you may have to wait for a couple to come and go before you get on one. We took the stairs whenever possible. One thing I was concerned with was the ships' medical facility. I'd sprained my wrist before we embarked and needed a brace or something to stabilize my wrist. I went down to see the doctor but both times I went, the place was closed. I said to myself, "glad I'm not dying" as the hours are limited. There is a phone right outside the office for emergencies, so I guess you could get there, find the door locked and then call the number. I just wound up finding a CVS in Key West and bought what I needed to stabilize my wrist.
It was a nice informative tour with a hop on hop off option. We had lunch at Caroline's - great huge burgers and seafood. We had to be on ship at 3:30 so we didn't really have time to explore much more. I had to find a CVS and they had what I needed to stabilize my injured wrist.View All 176 Trolley Tour Reviews
We rented the tubes and floated in the family area. Lunch was great. My 9 yr old grandson loves the slide. The area is beautiful and we didn't have to worry about waves knocking us around like they did at Cabbage Beach in Nassau. This is great for little ones who just want to play in the surf and sand. You don't have to worry about them because the water is so calm.View All undefined undefined Reviews
