This ship was chosen by a friend,we were a group of 8, because of price, doing research after cruise ended this became evident. We are from U.S.A.and have cruised Carnival to Alaska,Celebrity 2 years ago to Mediterranean and others and this ship was the least enjoyable. This line is owned by Carnival along with many others so when we saw that even water at lunch was extra unless you had a USA on your the back of your card. The standard formal night even charged $25 extra for lobster.
The cabins were pretty standard,we had booked a balcony but the smell of cigarette smoke and overflowing toilets were in hallways or in room was an issue.Unlike other ships we traveled on this one picked up passengers at several stops during our 7 days on board so instead of resting in your room your got the alarms and intercom blasting for muster drills.
The ship carried people from multiple countries so things were repeated in each language, and this continued on excursions the tour guides spoke in at least 2 languages. One tour was English and Spanish but the accent was enough that I had trouble understanding the english.
The reason we booked this tour was to see St. Peters.By the time we got to the church it was evident we would not have time because of the security and number of people, and the tour guide obviously knew we wouldn't get to see inside this amazing placeView All 349 City Tour Reviews
parked the bus several blocks away and people on tour needed to use restrooms as we were told they would be available so by the time everyone got to the WC is was time to get on the bus.It was very crowded this day but feel guides knewView All 193 Colosseum Reviews

I will add that many passengers were having a good time on the ship. The entertainment in the theater was usually pretty full and most of the shows were quite good. The thing that surprised our group the most was the families with really young children, even newborns that were at the different entertainment areas even well into the evening, and some of the youngest were out dancing and spinning around with their parents which was fun to watch. The down side was when we happened to be seated in the dining room every night next to 2 couples that had 6 kids that were running around completely unsupervised that they would be crying (tantrum) and getting in the way of guest and the staff. It was hard to grasp the whole scene which is what it was.All in all we still enjoyed seeing the different stops that we had and spent some days before and after the cruise in the Lake region and also stayed at a wonderful place in Savona called The Luna Hotel after we disembarked that was so refreshing. We would visit and hopefully will just not on a Costa cruise.
