I picked this cruise because the dates worked and I liked the ports. Overall we had a fantastic holiday. Check in was smooth and quick. Unfortunately they lost one of my hubbys luggage tags so the bag stayed at customer service. It was with many other bags in a wide open area where anyone could remove it. Which is what my husband did without a blink of an eye from the desk. This needs to improve. The food was quite good. One evening supper the service was terrible and my steak was very tough. The server was very nice and apologized indicating they were really short staffed. They also sat two loud young adult men right beside us which ruined our experience that night. Other than that one night, the service and food was excellent! Adult comedy was great as well. My biggest complaint and why I won’t return to this ship and probably not to Carnival was the terrible sewer smell aft deck 6 where our room was located. We propped open deck and hallway door when there to reduce odor. It also smelt terrible by the aft pool. We complained several times and they went a customer rep each time. The rep said no smell and basically called us liars even though we later saw several reviews about this is odor. He odor was less when they came to visit because we had doors open. When we would return to room after port or pool day, it was almost intolerable. Someone was working on venting system day 5 and miraculously the odor leasened significantly. Our issue is with the rep each time saying notthibg was wrong. Even our steward acknowledged the issue and apologized, not that it was his fault. Do not book aft deck 6 on the breeze. There was no odor mid to front. Not sure about other floors but it was significant by aft pool as well. This certainly didn’t ruin our holiday as we spent most time away from room. However it taints my once high opinion of Carnival Cruise.
