We did not choose this vacation, but accepted an invitation from my son and his family; they were the ones who chose the ship, itinerary and departure port. We did not know what to expect, but it turned out to be a perfect choice. Galveston is a great spot to spend a few days, parking was easy to find and the port was great with very easy embarkation and disembarkation. The ship was smaller than our last cruise, but I found it easier to get around and find things. The cabin was very nice, spacious ocean view. We noticed more rocking than usual but I am not sure if it's because we were at the back of the ship, or if it was due to weather. We were able to enjoy almost all of the shows and the staff was wonderful. The MDR was very good and our waiters were exceptional. I did find the menus a little repetitive as far as the regular meals go, and there was not as much of a variety as I would have liked but the food was very good. The WIndjammer was also great, although one day the food signs had been taken down a little too early and we did not know what was being served. Actually, I feel that there should be more sineage on the food stations so that we know what is being served before waiting in line for 10 minutes. Another example of this is the JADE/WINDJAMMER are together, as one restaurant, however they are listed as 2 restaurants, yet I am still unsure what the difference is in them. The pools were amazing - hot tubs HOT and pools comfortable. The usualy complaint here is that there are never enough pool chairs. Families put towels on them to 'save' them and they are saved and empty all day. The evening entertainment was very enjoyable and there was so much to do! A great variety of evening activities, with one of our favourites being the piano bar, even though we don't drink. Phil Anderson was an awesome entertainer. We were very happy with our itinerary choice. In Cozumel we went to Mr Sanchos and except for the rainy weather, we couldn't 'ask for a better all inclusive resort experience. Grand Cayman was also a beautiful island and Captain Marvin offered several different excursions. We chose the 2 stop and it was amazing. Jamaica however was a poor experience. We did not have plans for Jamaica so we took the cruise directors advice and took a drive with a local man, Le Roy, who did have a card to prove that he was legit. He explained that he was cheaper than the ship and he would charge $50 for both of us, and that we would see everything that the ship tours offer, for much cheaper. He did show us some nice views, but when we stopped at a fruit stand, it cost us $20 to taste coconut water and a banana. Then he brought us to the 'CHEAPEST souvenir shop on the island' which we found our later was the most expensive place to shop - all of their souvenir prices were 75% more than the local market. While we shopped, LeRoy left us at the store to pick up other clients and we had to wait over 30 minutes for him to come back. When he returned, LeRoy asked us to pay for his services at this very same souvenir shop and he charged us for 3 hours, $150 because he said we were with him 3 hours. We were with him 140 minutes (less than 2.5 hours) and 30 minutes of that was waiting for him to come back. When we reached the port we found much, much cheaper and nicer souvenirs, so we bought a few more things just to support the locals. We were very discouraged. It is VERY important that the Cruise Staff warn people about this kind of behaviour. We were trying to do the right thing by supporting the locals... and he was a fraud! All in all our vacation was awesome and we would do it again.

It was a perfect cabin. Plenty of space and very comfortable and clean. Our room steward, G, was AWESOME

Cozumel

We booked an all inclusive resort at Mr Sanchos and it was a great choice. We had a lot of rain, so it was disappointing, but we would go back.
