Embarkaction for the Glory was unbelievably easy -- even for an overcrwded Spring Break cruise! Carnival has instituted an automated check in system that worked very well. You type in your FunPass number, scan the code from the bottom of your passport, walk ten feet down and pick up your room cards. Viola! Check in complete.

We've been on the Valor - Glory's sister ship -- and knew somewhat what to expect as far as layout. But having just come from drydock, the Glory was beautiful at first sight. Love those smiling Carnival employees buzzing around, pointing folks in the right direction. Had really high hopes that this was going to a great vacation. UGH.

We made our way up to the Red Sail on the Lido for first day lunch. I realized the food quality was not up to what we've experienced on past Carnival or RCCI cruises, but we're not foodies so figured it would be ok. If we can find a burger or fruit salad, we'd be fine. Fought thru the lines and noticed the food didn't look very appetizing and portions were very small. Now, I get it -- people show up that first day and think they are feeding at a trough. Take multiple plates loaded with food. Cruise lines have to pull back on the portions because so much will go in the trash. In our case it went in the trash because it was plain aweful. Unfortunately -- except for the Emerald Steakhouse -- the food never got any better.
