This was only our second cruise so writing from limited experience. We are a couple in our 50's and celebrated our 35th anniversary on this cruise. Embarkation was smooth and we had no problem getting on early and hanging out until our cabin was ready.
Ship - the Regal may not be the largest ship out there but it is a big ship. Our one other previous cruise was on the Celebrity Infinity but this seemed so much bigger and much more to do. Not brand new anymore but still seemed pretty shiny to me. This was billed as the last test cruise before going full time with the medallion system. Many of the bar staff preferred to process the ID card but we they were supposed to use the medallions.
Dining - I was hesitant to sign up for early dining in the but it ended up working well for us and even with our late cruise signup we were able to get a table for two. Meals were generally quite good and our waiters were excellent. The buffet always seemed really crowded but no problem getting a seat and often ate out on the Lido anyway. The crew did an excellent job of keeping drinks filled, cleaning up tables and keeping the silverware stocked. Heck of a time finding a salt shaker though.
By the time we signed up we were unable to select a cabin. We were able to select the deck and general area. Finally received a cabin number a few days before embarkation. Turned out to be fine. Quiet and good view from the balcony. Cabin and bathroom clean and everything functioned. Our room steward was attentive and entirely unobtrusive. Would be happy to have this same cabin again.
Shopping area just ok.
