We are a married couple in our 50's who sailed on Liberty of the Seas April 7, 2019. This is our 4th cruise out of Galveston.
Embarkation:
Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived at the cruise terminal at 10:30 A.M., handed our bags to a porter, and found no line at security or the Platinum check-in line. We sat in the waiting area for approximately 15 minutes, and were on-board at the Hoof & Claw Pub by 11:00 A.M. having a pint. Unfortunately some heavy storms came through later in the day causing the captain to suspend the boarding process for a period of time. Our luggage was waiting in the hallway when we went to the room at 1:00 PM. Royal Caribbean seems to have really streamlined the luggage delivery process on our last two cruises. I don't know how they do it, but we were very pleased and impressed.
We had a Spacious Balcony Cabin (8366). It was very clean and in great condition, with a comfortable bed. There was plenty of storage, more than enough hangers, and comfortable reclining chairs on the balcony. We affixed a small magnetic LED light on the ceiling of the bathroom so as not to wake each other up at night when using the bathroom.
That worked well. The only thing I wish Royal Caribbean would give up on is the "55 degree" cooler in each stateroom. It really can't be used for much of anything, and takes up a lot of valuable storage space. We also found the safe placement deep in the left side of the stateroom closet to be a bad spot. It was difficult to open and hard to see inside of it.
