My husband and I booked a last minute cruise on the Edge and we loved it. We cruise around six times a year on Royal Caribbean and they were booked solid at the last minute. I hadn’t read much about the Edge until after booking the cruise and then started reading on the negative reviews. I wasn’t worried at all by the comments because they seemed over the top and were often written by people who hadn’t sailed on her.
We had booked an inside guarantee. When given the opportunity, we bid up and received an aqua class cabin.
In short our cruise was perfect. The entire ship is stunning! We loved our infinity balcony and cabin decor. We met many couples on board and common conversation opener was did you read the reviews and how wrong they were. Aqua class was fantastic with the amenities and Blu restaurant and spa.
The cabin decor was sophisticated and stunning. The color palette of shades grays and purple with bright white really popped. The bathroom was large for a cruise ship with an Aqua Class multi head shower.
The cabin featured decorating touches such as coral, vases, and artwork.
Slight negatives. The closet itself was cramped as far as room for
hanging up clothes, the probably 50 inch TV didn’t tilt at all, the bed was quite close to the balcony partition. However the room had many hidden storage areas and who watches a lot of TV on a cruise.
We liked the infinity balcony a lot. It functioned as a traditional balcony and an extension of the cabin. No it wasn’t an over sized aft balcony with lounge chairs, but we found it superior to a traditional side balcony mainly because it furnished beautifully and you could sit there in air conditioning and look at the sea while talking or reading.
