My sister and I got a great price on the cruise at the last minute. I had been on the Caribbean Princess twice when it first came out, and this was to be my 12th Princess cruise. We last cruised on the Regal Princess twice. What can I say...I felt during this cruise like everything was not...bad....but not up to what I expected and had experienced on my other cruises...not as "crisp"..I don't know..hard to put my finger on. My sister felt the same way. Staff was unfailingly polite! Cabin steward was great! But, for instance...I sat at one of the tables for two in the Cones and Coffee section. Servers or wait staff that usually roam to take plates away and ask if you want anything..well, they would come down so far from each end and then turn and go back. I felt like I was in no man's land. One day, my dirty plate sat there for two hours. No one approached me to ask if I wanted something to drink. Odd. We thoroughly did not enjoy the World Marketplace buffet...breakfast was good as always, but then on to lunch and dinner...great salad makings, fruits, decent dessert choices..but the entrees?? I get it that they are trying to have foods that represent "the world", but one whole section every day was Indian food...another section everyday was mexican food...odd little cups of things like "slaw on the bottom, a shrimp, a cherry tomato, and a dollop of goat cheese! Now I'm making that up, but...stuff like that. Two days of the cruise, the carving station had leg of lamb. One day a giant poached salmon..never a ham, one day a beef at one of the meals... I'm sorry, just not the entrees or support dishes of the past where most of the time, the buffet "mirrored" what was being offered in the dining room. Our experience with the Ocean Medallion thing was spotty. We WANTED to love it and did love some features..but I have an iPhone and every time my display (set for five minutes) went dark, I lost the connection and had to log on again. I tried to locate my sister one day and the app said she was in the casino..which she was...but for the rest of the cruise, refused to show her anywhere else. So I think when the kinks are worked out, it will be great..but it needs work. And, I think the wait staff is so concerned about delivering food and drink to people who order on the app, that they lose sight of the rest of us. Sorry..I'll definitely do princess again, but not this ship, and I sure hope this World Marketplace doesn't go fleetwide.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BC

The ship is showing its age. The balcony window needed cleaning..the blue rubbery thing on the floor of the balcony was stained. The bedding was very comfortable, and while the duvet kept us warm, it was heavy. Pillows were decent. Location on the ship was wonderful if you like the pool deck and buffet deck, which we do, so it was a great location for us.
