We choose the Epic because our friends were going and we were asked to join them as opposed to our normal Palace Resorts trips in the caribbean or Mexico this year. Never again. The staff was great but the nickel/dime concept of the trip was crazy. Everything from bourbon, shrimp cocktails and the list goes on is upcharged. For them to also advertise an excursion day when we actually only have 2 hours to enjoy the day is wrong. When they did bring us to their exclusive island for an excursion day everything was additional cash payment including canopies, umbrellas, floats, snorkel gear and drinks. So the one day they let us spend the entire day on their island became a cash holdup.

Not for me and for the price we paid. The staff and the crew were great but the room was noticeably tiny and so narrow 2 people could not pass by each other which seemed way smaller then the ships I have traveled on with Royal. The food was great also but every time you looked there were added upcharges. We had the unlimited drink package only to find out many types of beverages where not included such as specialty coffees served throughout the ship! A shot of Makers Mark would have costed $18 as there is an upcharge. We learned you have to buy the coffee package also. If you see the Le Circ show you get totally robbed of a specialty dining upgrade and also upcharged us $48 extra to see the show. They stayed up late to think of that ripoff.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Thank god my wife got me on ahead of the other 4000 people as the boarding system needs to be done more orderly then to just have everyone standing outside in a line as long as the ship itself. Dounting task and we required medical attention due to the heat and the extended wait.

Tortola

turned out to be 2 hours on the beach after disbarking and travel to the beach (45 minutes)
