Sailed out of Fort Lauderdale (1st time) and what a breeze. Embarkation was smooth and concierge class and above is the only way to go. Disembarkation was just as smooth. Lounge with coffee/juice and pastries was available on the ship while we waited for our time to disembark. The customs system at the port is smooth (picture taken) which eliminates the long line ups to be interviewed by custom officials.

The ship was clean but a little outdated. We understand it is due for an overhaul...new carpet, room color, etc. Will make it much better. They need to understand that no one used the grass area. Great for publicity but not practical. Could make additional seating for guests on the top back deck (bar area). Cabanas were used by 1 couple on the whole trip. I think over priced and another item that could be eliminated.

Dining: we have learned that it is not worth eating at the main dining area. We found the same food at the cafeteria and more relaxed and less crowded. The cafeteria food is bland but seasoning is available everywhere. Understand that everyone has different tastes, it is better to be bland and season your food (ie salt/pepper) to your liking. They did have Ox tail in the cafeteria that was exceptional. We (and others) requested to the chef to have it served again. Low and behold, 2 days later there it was (not something they usually do). The chef even made a point to let us know when it would be available. Nice touch.Specialty dining is hit and miss. Sushi on 5 was great. Fresh and appetizing. The Porch , not so much. Without improvements, it could go. Over priced, small protions and the food was not that fresh or tasty. Lobster bisque was the best part of the meal. The seafood tower was very disappointing.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

Always get the same room. Always clean and with a little bit of advise from Cruise Critic, we were able to make our room seem larger than it was....ie luggage under the bed, had the table removed, magnets for the wall to hang paperwork, etc. Attendants were always helpful (Vishtal ), polite and had the rooms clean and ready for us every day. Use to have the bottle of champagne in your room on the first day, now you can pick any day to have it delivered. Much better. Cards worked in the door every time, shower worked well. No complaints at all.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Stayed at the Hard Rock prior to our cruise. I will give this experience a 10/10. Terrific staff, security at all "Towers", food was excellent, comps very good. This place will give Las Vegas a ride for it's money. Other than over priced for the rooms , a very enjoyable stay.

St. Thomas

A wonderful island to tour on your own. Safe and plenty to do. Did some sightseeing and returned to a nice little Italian restaurant for food and drink.

St. Maarten

Usually hit Maho, the casino with a stop to Pineapple Pete's for the best lobster thermidor anywhere on this planet. This time, stayed on the ship as time was tight.

St. Lucia

Walked around the local area.

Dominica

Walked thru the downtown. Some of the nicest, most polite people you can ever meet.

An island that does not have much (economy) but if you are into spices, then that is all you need to go for.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

One of the nicest ports. Large with a large variety...shopping, food, drinks, casino.
