I chose this cruise because of the solo option. It was really an experiment to see if I liked cruising solo. It was my 14th cruise, the first with Norwegian. I went to Miami the day before, coming from Tucson AZ. I stayed with family in Miami. The embarkation was very smooth, with good direction and functionality. It was odd exploring the ship by myself, but the staff were very helpful. Restaurants were open for lunch, so I had a good choice if I had wanted to eat or drink. My cabin was in the private solo section, needing my key card to enter the area. I was worried about the size of my cabin, since I usually choose a balcony cabin or a suite, so I was pleasantly surprised at how efficiently the cabin was arranged. There was a good sized ‘window’, which was a framed screen showing the outside via camera, so it really was just like looking out of a window. There was a lot of storage and closet space for such a small room. There is a lounge only for solo travelers, which was very nice with snacks and a great coffee machine, very spacious. I didn’t know ahead of time but there is also a host for the solo group, who helps with reservations and Information. The group I was in met each evening and each person decided whether to eat as a group or individually in one of the freestyle dining rooms ,and whether or not to see the entertainment in the theatre. Then our host, Ankica, made reservations for us. The food was very good, with a diversity of choices. I had opted for the beverage package and also had good choices with that. The entertainment was very good throughout the ship, and there were a lot of activities from which to choose. I enjoyed each performance. I was happy with the service overall. There were many choices for shore excursions. The ports were the usual Caribbean ports; lots of shopping. Disembarkation was also smooth and orderly and the transfer to the airport was well done. I will travel with Norwegian again, having enjoyed the way I was made to feel part of a group even though I was traveling alone. I would have given a 5 star rating if the internet had been more reasonable and if there had been a separate, covered pool.

Cabin Review

Studio Stateroom

Cabin T8

Very well done. Plenty of storage, loved the ‘window’, which was a screen projecting the outside from a remote camera which was exactly like looking out of a window. My cabin attendant, Antonio, was very good and kept my cabin clean and fresh twice a day. I was really surprised how comfortable the small space was. The bed was a little too firm for me, but that’s just an individual taste.

Tortola

Very small area, not much in port except shopping if not on an excursion.
