We chose this cruise because it was the Royal and we loved it almost two years ago. Embarking went very well .. our room was lovely on the aft A734. The balcony gorgeous but soaking wet and puddles of soot in them .. the beds were not the nice new wonderful beds as promised. They were old and hard as a rock. Linens worn. We hurried and booked a cabana in the Sanctuary which was wonderful each day. The staff amazing and a lovely memory. The black soot in our feet and not being able to use our balcony as much not the best experience. We were always chasing down our room steward who honestly we could not often find . He was not as wonderful as the last two we have had. But maybe he has lots of duties elsewhere. Disembarkation in Los Angeles felt more like a cattle call than Ft Lauderdale or Whittier which I’ve done recently. There were lots of wheelchairs waiting in long lines I felt bad for them . No one to help with luggage not enough porters .. lots of older couples could have used the help. It was sweaty in there too I hate to think of how bad it gets as the weather gets warmer. They should have had a water station perhaps as well. Buses to the airport were a long walk to drag your baggage too. Lots of help outside which was not as necessary as hiring more porters if you have to walk that long and drag your luggage as you stand in a hot sweaty line. Note to self hire a private car to meet you to go to the airport. It would have only been $10 less and they have water and comfortable air conditioned seating.

Could have been better
