Harmony of the Seas Cruise Review by Lklk54
- Sail Date: March 2019
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Ocean View Balcony
Our biggest complaints were the ship staff DID NOT make people wash nor purell before entering the dining rooms and at the eating establishments (despite all the signage and videos). We were fastidious about cleanliness and abstained from buffets but on the second formal night (after my husband ate the lobster dinner) he and I both felt very sick. We were up sick all night and we had to go to the medical compound on deck 2, which was 2 hours backlogged with other sick patients. While I was feeling a bit better by the time we got to see a doctor (3 hours) my husband required intravenous fluids and meds, requiring quarantine status of our cabin. neither of us could eat much and we missed the Labadee port, as that was our quarantine day. That night when we went into the main dining room purell use was mandatory (thank goodness) as the virus was spreading quickly. RCCL offered us a credit only for my husband for one day, which we feel was insufficient and our cruise was negatively impacted as we could not eat nor drink much.
our other issue was the "nickel and diming" through the cruise. We felt the cruise was a sales event at every turn. I would prefer to pay more and not have to be constantly up-sold.
also, often we could not participate in nightly activities as the venue choice was too small and so many people were turned away, i.e. Karaoke (held in ON Air) no seats and dangerously crowded. BINGO - i tried twice and could not participate as again it was held in ON AIR and no seats or even standing room. Why not use
overall, we enjoyed the ship
