We cruise regularly and overall liked the Magic. Embarkation in Miami was a little delayed but overall we weren’t bothered by it knowing we were going to have a Guy’s burger as soon as we got on! . We were also pleasantly surprised to see that the pig and anchor BBQ was also on embarkation day as well as days at sea. That’s also awesome. This was my first time cruising gluten free and went to talk to the dining room. They took really good care of me in the dining room every night! At the end of dinner I would order gluten feee for the next night. For lunches, guys burgers offer gluten free buns or you can get it without a bun. The Buffett was clearly labeled gluten free for some items which were questionable. It was great. The pizza gluten free was crispy and good and usually takes an extra 5 minutes. Since we were on an Ultra cruise we hung out in the casino most nights. It was a lot of fun. The casino had a variety of machines and tables. The crowds weren’t too bad and the waitstaff and casino dealers were personable and experienced. Our teenage kids really enjoyed the shows and comedy hour even though they saw the comedians act on another ship. This time they sang karaoke and had a good time with other teens. . Our cabins were comfortable and clean. The common areas were also comfortable and clean.

It was our second time on this boat, and our third time doing the shark ray alley excursion with the stop at Caye Caulker in Belize. The first time I took it on Princess, the tender came right to the ship. The boat was a Two deck enclosed catamaran. Plenty of room and a pleasant ride. The second time was with Carnival and that was good. A pleasant day. This last time—— awful. We started the day taking the tender and waiting in the dock for 45 minutes in the light rain. Then this little crappy looking speedboat pulls up and they proceed to cram 50 people aboard. There was no room and it was severely overcrowded. They had us put on our life jackets and proceeded to drive us into the storm at 40 miles per hour. There was no cover on the boat, just a Bimini top. It was rough, bumpy, cold and the rain hurt. Visibility was zero. Everyone had their heads down and trying to cover. The captain had a cloth over his face and kept trying to wipe his eyes to see yet we were going fast. If we hit debris, or a sand bar someone in that overcrowded boat could have been severely hurt. I’ve been in this excursion in the rain before. I’m not blaming the weather . I’m blaming the Exotic tour company and Carnival for picking a captain who had blatant disregard for our safety and did not have the correct boat for the tour. So for 45 minutes everyone on the boat was miserable, beat up and cold. We get to the reef to snorkel and the crew says ok over the side. So getting 50 people on and off the boat in a current not fun. Same thing at the shark sandbar. By the time we got to Caye Caulker I couldn’t wait to get off. Then they come around basically telling everyone that the only place to eat is the Lazy Lizard and to fill out our lunch requests which we have to pay for. No way! I’m not paying 20 dollars US for chicken at the lizard when 1 block in is all kinds of better food for 1/3 of the price. But the other people on the excursion who have never been there before didn’t know any better and they got suckered. The whole excursion was misleading. It was clear all they cared about was money. We walked all over and never was approached by people selling stuff. They were all over the people off the boat at the lizard restaurant. If you booked this tour, ask whether it’s the Exotic tour company. Avoid them. RIP OFF!!! The next time I’m in Belize if carnival won’t tell me the name of the tour company, I won’t take the tour. I’ll probably book it myself

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8G

Cabin was nice. We also had interior across the hall. Both very good. Room steward was efficient. We always had clean towels. He asked us in the beginning what time of day he should make up our room and stuck to it. It was great.

Port Reviews

Miami

Besides traffic parking was easy at the port

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Plenty to do and see just walking around. High end shopping

Roatan

Enjoyed walking nature trail next to boat. Have been there many times. Really shouldn’t be an extra charge for ski lift. Should be included in port fee.

Belize City

I love Caye Caulker and will be back on my own. Not through Exotic tours or Carnival
