My wife and I love cruising and we cruise a lot. We like the princess line but they don't leave from New Orleans, so we had to settle on NCL. The good news is, the ship is beautiful, there are things to do everywhere and the food is great, but everything goes down from there. We got an extra-cost balcony mini-suite. It had a nice size bathroom but the rest of the room was so tiny we had to turn sideways to get around each other. The TV was a small one, so far to the left from the bed, the person on the right had to crane their neck to see it. There were only two electrical outlets over the mini-desk and NONE in the bathroom. But the main problem was constant gouging for money. EVERYTHING was extra cost and there were hidden charges everywhere. A friend bought the "drink package" for I think he said was $175, which included most alcohol and soft drinks (yes, a Coke is an extra cost item) and when he got the final bill there were tax items added to it. We ordered a bottle of wine at dinner. It was double what it costs at a liquor store, then they added tax, a tip and a $9 charge to bring it to our table!

Getting onboard was easy except for what seemed like a quarter mile walk up a series of switchbacks (it made it hard for people with canes or had difficulty walking) before you actually stepped on the ship. But getting off at the end of the cruise was worse. There were lots of brochures telling you how to get off, where to meet the immigration people and how to get your luggage, but none of the instructions matched and trying to get hold of someone on the phone was nearly impossible. We will never travel with NCL again.

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Tiny, cramped and poorly laid out. Not enough electrical outlets. TV hard to watch from the bed. Calling it a mini-suite is a joke.
