Took the cruise because we wanted to see Havana. The full day Royal Caribbean shore excursion was excellent and fully met our expectations. In Nassau we just did our own thing as we had visited Nassau before.
We knew this was an older ship when we booked the trip and didn't mind the cabins were not what you get on newer ships. But despite being an older ship, the public areas were quite nice and comparable to newer ships.
This was our first time on Royal Caribbean and we were not impressed compared to our cruise experiences on other lines. The food was very good but throughout the cruise there were constant small annoyances that added up to the impression that at least on this ship and cruise, Royal Caribbean didn't have their act together. The crew generally were pleasant enough but it seemed they were clearly under trained so it was not their fault.
Being an older ship, there are not many balcony rooms so we booked ocean view. The cabin was small but as we expected. This was only a 4 night cruise so the small room was not an issue for us.
