My wife and I experienced the Celebrity Edge back-to-back, Eastern and Western Caribbean, cruise. We decided on a two- week cruise because the ship is new and it takes several days to fully experience a new ship, especially one that promised to incorporate many new concepts. We were rewarded with a very enjoyable adventure in new, beautiful, and comfortable surroundings.
New: The Edge proves that cruising is continuing to change, mostly for the better. We experienced several new things starting with embarkation and ending with disembarkation.
Embarkation: Upon arrival at terminal 25, the new Port Everglades cruise terminal introduced to accommodate the Edge, we were met by a terminal agent who said “welcome aboard”, viewed our express pass, entered data on an Ipad, took photos with the Ipad, and sent us to the suite lounge. We went, immediately to our cabin which was available for dropping our carry-on bags and storing valuables in the cabin safe. Our cabin keys were in a sealed envelope next to the cabin door. The cabin was fully ready after lunch. Time: Maybe 10 minutes.
Cabin is nicely decorated, including a bathroom that accommodates two people.Th tub/shower is shallower, and flatter, easy in and out. Much safer. Furniture is functional. Lots of decorator pillows we stored under the bed. Very nice balcony chairs. Lots of storage.
Shopping right at the port was very good. Easy to access with wheelchair
