We booked this cruise almost two years ago and as the date of the cruise approached we were getting very concerned after reading the many negative reviews. However we were determined to keep an open mind and make our own decisions about the Edge. So glad we did.

We were booked into an Aqua class room and from the moment we arrived at the terminal we were impressed with the efficiency of getting on the ship. No waiting to go to a check in counter, just show your documents and board the ship. Once on board we were told we could go right to our room and our keys would be there waiting for us. Indeed they were. Less than 15 minutes from luggage drop-off and we were in our room. Much to our delight our room attendant was a wonderful gentleman we had last June on the Summit. At that time we felt he was the best room attendant we've ever had (and we are Elite Plus) and he did not disappoint this time. Our room was bright, comfortable, and we loved the infinite balcony. It gave on a much more open feeling in the room. Although the balcony is a little smaller the furniture is 10 times more comfortable and we loved sitting out there even with the balcony window up. The bathroom is very modern and the shower is larger with a real glass door. Closet space for a week was fine but for a 14 day trip it might be a bit tight. There is plenty of drawer space and lots of "hidden" cubicles for all your draw/shelf stuff. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the towels were large and fluffy.

The decor of the ship is very clean and fresh looking and the hallways and walkways are wider so it never feels crowded. They increased the size of El Baccio (coffee bar) so you are able to find seats most of the time. The seating and layout in the Oceanfront cafe is much better and there seems to be more seating available. Even the food in the Oceanfront seemed to be better. Since we are Aqua we eat in Blu and we have always found the food there to be very good. This Blu was the best ever. The food and the service were over the top and we could have not been more pleased. It was so good we never went to a specialty restaurant. Maybe next time.
