Quick overview: My DH and I are 53 and 48. This is our 9th cruise, 5th Royal, and second on Liberty. We had the drink package as we don't like worrying about a bill at the end. We had a wonderful time. It was Spring Break in Texas, which is why we could go as I am a teacher. Lots of kids but most were well behaved. There are always rude people who try to get on the elevator before you get off so the kids weren't to blame. Galveston embarkation was a piece of cake. Arrived in Galveston at 10:00. Parked at Lighthouse parking. Shuttled to the ship, through security and waiting by 10:25. As Platinum members, we were in Windjammer having lunch and a cocktail by 11:10.Our cabin was a port side hump balcony. One of our favorites. Close to the aft elevators and very convenient to all venues. Liberty is in great shape for her age. Were there some worn spots? Yes. Enough to ruin things? No. We had the three night dining package and ate at Chops all three. Food was great all three times. Service was ok the first two nights but our last night it was wonderful. Ishyta (Ishy) was wonderful! We will look for her on our next Liberty cruise. The MDR food was also excellent. Huge variety? No but that's what the Windjammer is for. We ate breakfast at Windjammer most morning and a couple of lunches. Good food and we did not think it was tasteless. Ate lunch in the MDR twice. Love lunch there! Food was excellent and service was excellent. We saw both comedians and Saturday Night Fever. All three were great. The Quest was a bit tame but still quite a lot of fun. Jeffery is the CD and we love him. His morning rant is fun even for experienced cruisers. I know some do not like him, but we find him to be a very nice person. My husband is a Navy veteran so we attended both get togethers. If you are a veteran, you must go. Royal has refreshments and Jeffrey attended both times. We spent a lot of time at Hoof and Claw. Great pub! Danis and Yati were awesome. They made the best cocktails on the ship. We challenged them to make dirty martinis and they were both spectacular! Casino was a bit smoky but we still enjoyed it. Our ports were Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth. "Traditional" itinerary but we had fun. We rarely book excursions through Royal. We ventured around Cozumel and had excellent guacamole and a couple of beers at Ernesto's about a two block walk from the pier. In grand Cayman, we went to Paradise where hubby could snorkel and I could a beverage or two. Husband said the snorkeling was great and we were close to the tenders. We also went to Churchill's our favorite Caribbean cigar shop. In Falmouth, we went to the Royalton resort. It was nice. Food and drink were plentiful but lots of kids in adult only areas. Not sure if we'd go there again. Overall, we had a fabulous cruise. We booked our next one for December 2020.

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin 2D

Awesome views. Slightly larger balcony. Liliana our attendant was wonderful. Room was always clean and she replaced our wine glasses nightly as we did bring our own wine for on the balcony.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Fun port with things within walking distance. Shopped and had snacks at Ernesto's

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Paradise Bar and Grill. You can rent snorkel equipment for $15. Food and drinks were great. There is also a floating obstacle course for kids or those young at heart.

Falmouth

Royalton all inclusive day pass. Great food and drinks. Lots of activities. They had a cooking demo by the pool and it was fabulous. Only negative was the kids in the adults only area.
