We booked this cruise so we would not have to fly to Florida. We drove to Bayonne from Boston and it was a quick trip until we hit the Cross Bronx Expressway, what a mess it took us an hour to go 3 miles. Finally made it to Bayonne and the GPS and I could not get to the ship I could see the ship but kept going down the wrong street or pier. Finally a long shore man gave us directions. "It's back that way" Thanks!! But we finally made it. The terminal is not the best but the lines moved fast after we got through the metal detectors. We were on the ship in less than 45 minutes after getting to the terminal. We had a balcony stateroom on deck 8 near the back of the ship. It was clean and the furniture was in great shape, very little wear and no stains anywhere. The balcony had a few minor rust spots, but after the weather they have had on previous cruises and some of the comments I had read I expected a lot worse. Omeilla our room attendant was great and exceeded our expectations. We had great weather for the sail away in the 60's and sunny and stayed sunny the whole cruise. We ate all our breakfasts and lunches in the Windjammer and always found a good selection without any complaints about the quality. We had late seating for dinner and again found the food to be very good and our Server Glen was great, again we had no complaints about the quality or taste of the food. We did eat in Portofino's one night and that was also very good and was worth the extra charge. The activities and shows were good, they had a few production shows, a couple comedians, a juggler, and a few headliners, also Dave the CD was great. The ports were San Juan, St Thomas, Samana, and Labadee.

In San Juan we went for a long walk and up to the fort that was very intersesting.

St Thomas we took a tour to go to the beach and snorkel on St Johns, this was the only disappointing part of our trip the trip was advertised as 4 hours with 1 ½ hours on the beach. Here is the breakdown of our excursion. Meet on the pier at 8:15 am stood around for a ½ an hour then walk down to other end of pier to get on ferry at 9 am. Then we had a real bumpy and rocky trip over to St John's got on the trucks for our ride to Trunk bay our driver never stopped so anyone could take pictures at the scenic overlooks. By the time we get instructions and snorkel gear it is 10:30 finally the beach. At 11:15 (45 minutes at the beach) we are told we are leaving. Back on the trucks and again the driver never stops for pictures even though people were trying to snap pictures while driving by the scenic overlooks, back to the ferry and wait and then back to St. Thomas at 1:15. A 5 hour trip with 45 minutes on the beach, never again. Spent the rest of the afternoon shopping.
