I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and the dining room service on this cruise. Food was always either over-cooked, under-cooked, cold, tough, or just tasted bad in general. Only two years ago we sailed on the Spirit and the quality of food and service were on par with any 4+ stars restaurant (main dining room), 5+ stars (for the Steak House), and 3 stars (for the various buffet/grill/sandwiches/pizza type casual dining experiences). Service was always prompt, efficient, beyond courteous, with the wait staff recogninizing and even memorizing our preferences for drinks, and desserts, and being quite genial and eager to please. This cruise, definitely not the case.

The Main Dining Room (Platinum, table 557) 2 Stars: The head waiter was completely lost, could barely understand us; when we were placing orders he frequently misunderstood, delivered courses out of order (which wouldn't be bad except that he brought my fruit plate 1st course after dessert), was argumentative when presented with a complaint, and did not communicate with his assistant at all. The drinks server usually showed up after the 1st starter was served, wine or drinks served with the main course, no return visits unless you hunted him down.

The Steak House 3 1/2 Stars: The food was better, the service was better, the wait staff somewhat difficult to understand, but they were lovely and concerned with our experience, which was a delightful change!
