This was our third cruise on The Pearl and again the ship and crew hit a home run. Even though this particular cruise was a half charter we didn't run into that group very often. The exception was in the hot tubs where the charter members and spring breakers took over all of the hot tubs putting sometimes as many as 18 people in one at a time. However, to some extent this can be expected with the spring break group and was not the ship's fault. I did notice the crew monitoring and correcting the issues after day 1.

The food was excellent as always I just wish they would mix up the menus more often. The food service staff was professional, personable and efficient.

We were scheduled to stop at Great Stirrup Cay but were told that morning that weather would not let us tender in. Two items about this. First, NCL should seriously consider or expedite plans to build a pier at GSC. Second, why Freeport? That port maybe the worst port in the Caribbean to stop at. Again, these are not necessarily and relection on The Pearl but more so on NCL.

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin ID

An inside cabin is an inside cabin. It was dark and quiet which was very condusive to outstanding sleep and napping. The room steward was spot on and anticipated many of our needs, refered to us by name each time we spoke, and did an outstanding job of checking and updated our rooms each time we left.

Port Reviews

Tampa

This was the first time that we chose to arrive at the port once boarding had begun. We arrived at 12:30 and had no wait getting through the steps and onto the ship. From the time we were dropped off to the time we sat down in the Summer Palace for a relaxing lunch was no more than 25 minutes. Way to go!

Freeport

Industrial port in an area that is known for safety and secuirty issues. Due to this we chose to only step off for a few minutes to look for that ever elusive Christmas ornament which we did find. This was a last minute change due to GSC not being available due to weather and was a disappointing change as we always look forward a relaxing day on the beach there.
